The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon at Pleasant Prairie Village Hall, located at 9915 39th Avenue. Organizers say the free program is designed for children ages 4 through 11 and focuses on teaching real-world bicycle safety skills in a controlled, engaging environment.
Participants will rotate through a series of stations that simulate everyday riding situations, giving them an opportunity to practice handling skills, learn traffic awareness, and improve overall bike safety. The event will feature agility courses, safety games, and educational demonstrations aimed at building confidence and awareness for young riders.

In addition to the training component, children who attend will have access to a variety of extras, including helmet fittings, bicycle inspections, personalized bike identification licenses, and certificates of completion. Organizers will also provide helmet and T-shirt giveaways while supplies last, along with raffle prizes throughout the event.
The Bicycle Rodeo will also include adaptive bicycles made available by Cycling Without Age Walworth County and RecPlex Therapeutic Recreation, ensuring that children with special needs can participate in the experience.

Officials say families should plan ahead, as advance registration is required by May 13. Children must bring their own bicycles, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early for their assigned time slots. The event will take place in the south parking lot of Village Hall, with parking available on the north side of the property.
The Pleasant Prairie Police Department is partnering with several community organizations and local sponsors to put on the event, including the Kenosha Area Noon Optimist Club and Great Lakes Cycling, along with a range of local businesses and agencies supporting youth safety initiatives.

The Bicycle Rodeo has become a recurring community event aimed at promoting safe riding habits at a young age, particularly as warmer weather brings more children outdoors on bikes throughout the area.
