KENOSHA, Wis. Prairie Lane Elementary School has been officially recognized as a Wisconsin Blue Ribbon School, an honor awarded by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for exceptional achievement and school-community collaboration.
The designation follows a detailed nomination and review process and reflects years of strong academic performance, innovative teaching strategies, and an engaged parent community. Prairie Lane has long been known for its team-based instructional approach, where teachers set high standards and create hands-on learning opportunities that encourage teamwork and critical thinking. According to district officials, this culture of collaboration has been central to the school’s success.
Principal Camille Schroeder said the recognition highlights the commitment of Prairie Lane’s students, staff, and families. She noted that maintaining high expectations has been a shared priority and that the school takes pride in fostering an environment where students are encouraged to explore, question, and grow.
Kenosha Unified Superintendent Dr. Jeff Weiss echoed that sentiment, emphasizing the strong partnership between Prairie Lane families and educators. He said the award underscores what the school community has built together over many years — a model of how constructive, consistent family-school relationships can directly support student outcomes.
District officials thanked students, families, staff, and the broader community for their support and credited the school’s culture of teamwork for making the recognition possible.

But what are the student test score outcomes. Percentage achieving grade level standards? This is need to know information.
I wouldn’t take the administration word for how they are doing? Community collaboration is glitz and glitter if there is nothing to back it up.
This is wonderful! Congrats!
