SOMERS, Wis. — A pedestrian was struck and killed early Tuesday morning while attempting to cross Green Bay Road in the Village of Somers, according to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office.
At around 3 a.m., a motorist traveling northbound on State Highway 31 (Green Bay Road) reported to 911 that they had hit a person crossing the highway from east to west in the 3500 block. Deputies and Somers Fire Department personnel responded immediately, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured and remained on the scene, fully cooperating with investigators. The Kenosha County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) was called in to assist with the investigation due to the fatal nature of the incident.
The name of the deceased has not been released pending family notification. The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains ongoing.
