SOMERS, Wis. – A Somers man with a history of bizarre and threatening behavior was back in court Thursday, this time accused of trying to mow down his neighbor’s nephew while screaming death threats in an escalating lawn dispute.
Lawrence A. Geibel, 70, appeared in Kenosha County Circuit Court on charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety and disorderly conduct in case 25CF677. Assistant District Attorney Alexis Bauer requested a $500 cash bond, but Court Commissioner William Michel II raised it to $750, citing Geibel’s extensive criminal history and continued volatility.
According to the criminal complaint, Geibel was cutting grass near a residence in Somers on May 14 when he veered into his neighbor’s yard with the mower blades still spinning. When asked to stop, Geibel allegedly flew into a rage and shouted a death threat before accelerating the mower directly at the man, forcing him to jump aside to avoid injury. Deputies later documented mower tracks in the neighbor’s yard and described Geibel’s demeanor as erratic and potentially intoxicated.
The victim said Geibel kept the blades engaged during the entire encounter and continued to issue threats even after backing off. Deputies noted that the elderly defendant had to be separated during booking due to his aggressive behavior and was only able to be spoken to through a glass partition.
Geibel’s latest criminal case is the third in as many years, and all three involve threatening or harassing behavior in the same neighborhood—often from behind the wheel of his riding mower.

In 24CM969, Geibel was found guilty of disorderly conduct for harassing a UPS driver in July 2024. The driver said Geibel blocked his van in a driveway with the mower and shouted racial slurs. Deputies who arrived described Geibel as noncompliant, requiring a show-of-force with a Taser before he relented. He was fined by Judge Jason Rossell, and an obstruction charge was dismissed.
In 22CF669, deputies responded to reports that Geibel—drunk and carrying a makeshift club—entered a neighbor’s garage uninvited in May 2022 and refused to leave. Witnesses said he brandished the club in a threatening manner, prompting an off-duty Kenosha police officer to disarm him. Geibel violently resisted arrest, injuring a deputy in the process. He was later convicted of disorderly conduct, while the felony resisting charge and weapons enhancer were dropped. Judge Gabriele imposed only a fine.
Geibel also has a 2016 conviction for Operating While Intoxicated (2nd offense).
Geibel faces up to 12 years in prison and $26,000 in fines if convicted on the current charges, which include enhanced penalties due to his repeater status. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 22.

This is messed up..and not truthful at all.
Oh it’s 100% true
First off, can you even read the entire article? And who is lying? The victim? The police? The prosecutors? Or me? This Story is based on allegations made by the Sheriff’s deputies and the prosecutors. Who do you think is lying? Do you think the other victims were lying in the other three cases he was convicted on?
You are the messed-up one. Check WI Circuit Court access, it is all there!
This is false information and misleading. That is not what happened.
You can’t even read the entire article, I bet. It’s completely true. Read CCAP. Talk to people. People all over Somers know about this guy and his death threats to multiple people. Trespassing all the time. Drunk all the time. He’s got issues that he needs serious help for.
Is this his chubby , unattractive daughter ?
Yes, the “victim” is lying. The victim has money and hates his neighbors for not selling their land to him. If you look up his stuff, he’s tried suing his direct neighbor for a lawn dispute. Freaking lawn! He didnt win. And in this particular case that you posted, the “victim” gave photos of his lawn to the deputy. No injuries to himself, just his lawn. No one should get a felony for some grass and a hurt ego and because some rich guy is lying to get rid of him.
This “victim” also called the cops on his neighbors in the past for being on their own land, but since he thought he should own it he felt they shouldnt be there!
Those neighbors are nothing but problem people who do nothing but create unnecessary problems for their immediate neighbors.
So if you want to be a true investigator about this situation and not assume someone is guilty based on prior incidents, you should go ask other neighbors. Not just get the rich people’s statements who are slowly trying to get rid of the neighbors who own the land they want.
Josh, you don’t know how the news works. I’m writing on the police beat, I can’t go talk to every single neighbor of every single person accused of a crime. You’re not helping your grandpa
As far as I can tell, everything you stated is untrue. I’m in the area and I don’t know of any disputes between the neighbors and I know all of them very well. There is however a problem that everyone recognizes with you and your crazy family. Correct me if I’m wrong, but his last arrest was tied to an incident in which he threatened the life of a UPS driver and hurled racial slurs at him for being a black man. Everyone in the area knows about it. Don’t act like anyone is provoking him. He has serious mental health and addiction problems that are all his own. He has absolutely no right to treat people this way. You should be ashamed.
You voted for KamAla, right? I bet you are friends with Carli and her wife Jess. Why don’t ya go to Madison? maybe Ever(s) believes you. Otherwise try with this girl the dishonorable judge Dugan, maybe she believes ya. I am afraid she won’t be able to help ya either.
You smell like a libertarded.
You sound ignorant.
Comments like this hurt conservatives.
Please shut up.
No, let him speak the nonsense that’s in his head. Then we know who’s on “that side” and can avoid them.
These comments about it not being true have to be from Lawrence’s family. Sadly, the best support you can offer him is to address his mental health. Everyone in the neighborhood knows he’s unstable, but if you care about him don’t gaslight the community- get him committed for evaluation before he hurts someone or himself. You aren’t doing him favors by supporting his psychosis. A person doesn’t get arrested multiple times because he’s a stable person.
That’s how they roll. Always the ones they do crime against is at fault. This runs deep with other family members. Narcissistic at their best. They know how manipulate and twist the truth.
I live near this man, he is a psychotic drunk that causes problems for anybody near him. Look at his past, always starting problems with neighbors. Somebody is going to knock him on his ass sooner or later!
Funny , he looks perfectly normal.
He looks angry and sick. Please dont enable this man. He is going to do serious harm sooner or later. His slaps on the wrist for priors did not help. What are these judges thinking??
He looks like a toddler that just got swatted on the behind. Such a shame.
Deport him!
You cant just deport everyone! Im so sick of hearing that ignorant comment as if its a solution for everything!
