Kenosha Nurse Arrested for OWI After Son’s 911 Call, Claims Police Conspiracy

Kenosha, Wis. — A Kenosha nurse was arrested Friday evening for operating while intoxicated after her 9-year-old son called emergency services, saying he and his brother were home alone and hadn’t eaten. But what began as a routine OWI arrest has since spiraled into a bizarre string of conspiracy claims posted online by the woman at the center of the case.

Police responded to the home around 7:30 p.m. on March 21 after the child reported that his mother, identified as 39-year-old Sarah N. Becker, hadn’t returned from work. When officers arrived, they found the two children had been left without adult supervision.

Shortly afterward, Becker pulled into the driveway. According to police, when she entered the home, officers smelled intoxicants and noted that Becker was slurring her words. She refused to complete standardized field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

The Department of Children and Family Services responded to the scene and placed the children with a relative.

At the Kenosha County Jail, Becker initially agreed to a breathalyzer but failed to provide a sufficient sample—an action considered a refusal under Wisconsin law. Police then obtained a blood sample under the state’s implied consent statute. Becker was booked for OWI and is scheduled to appear in Kenosha Municipal Court later this week.

Not long after her arrest, Becker began publicly disputing the charges and accusing local police of misconduct. In a Facebook comment under a post featuring her mugshot, she wrote: “Weird they would post this since I passed the breathalyzer and blood test.” She went on to accuse the Kenosha Police Department of harassing her “for a while.”

In a conversation with Kenosha County Eye, Becker repeated her claims, saying: “The police came and confirmed I was not intoxicated.” She alleged that her breathalyzer test showed “zeroes” and accused police of withholding her blood test results—which can take several weeks to process.

When asked to clarify her accusations, Becker claimed the 911 call was made up by her son after he spoke to his father. “To answer your question, yes, my son made it up and his phone shows he took a call from his father just before calling the police,” she said. “He called the police because I wouldn’t let him go to his friend’s house.” Becker told KCE that her shift ended at 6:00 p.m. and she got home at 7:00 p.m. – she then corrected herself to say she got home at 7:30 p.m.

A woman identifying herself as Becker’s mother also posted online, echoing claims of a conspiracy between the Kenosha Police Department and the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office. Neither offered evidence to support those claims.

The day after the arrest, on March 22, Becker’s 9-year-old son called police again. He allegedly told dispatchers that his mother was intoxicated and that he had locked himself in the bathroom because he didn’t feel safe.

Becker remains free pending her upcoming court appearance. The results of her blood test are expected to play a significant role in the case.

    1. Your complaint that most if not all comments are anonymous is more than funny considering your comment comes in without a last name. Who could even say your real name is Stephanie ??

The beauty and some of the success of this website (KCE) is the attraction of random comments !! Sure some are way off base and even off color to use an old phrase but, it’s the anonymity that creates good content. Looking for and at what someone might say next gets this site views and clicks. Admit it, you’re here. And some of the first comments seem to be from people that know this family.
Being able to say your piece anonymously whether it’s truth or not is entertainment.
At the same time we’re not getting this type of reporting anywhere else in this town.

So because Kevin allows free unfiltered speech and comments, he’s able to not just inform us but to allow us to be entertained all the while he makes a living.
Sounds like a win, win, win, win, win !!!

I comment here quite regularly and never divulge my name. Kevin knows who I am by my email. He knows some if not a lot of his frequent commenters.
And he doesn’t stop anyone except rarely when the comment is just way too bad, even for him.

So Stephanie. Do you have a last name ? Are you a real person ? Is there a reason we should care ?

Stories like this are sad. Sad that children are brought up in “families” like this. But this is real life. Like it or not.
