KENOSHA, Wis. – A Kenosha man is accused of violently attacking his 9-year-old son during a domestic incident that left the child so traumatized he urinated in his pants out of fear. The father now faces felony charges and remains in custody after a court appearance Friday.

According to a criminal complaint filed Friday, the alleged assault occurred on Sunday, May 4, at Turner’s home on the 6300 block of 55th Street in the City of Kenosha. The child’s mother brought him to the Public Safety Building to report what had happened, and police launched an investigation.

The child, identified in court records only by his initials, told police that Turner became enraged after accusing the boy of spending $300 on his credit card. The boy denied making the purchase, but Turner allegedly responded by yelling at him to come downstairs, then grabbing him by the throat and lifting him off the ground. The child said he was held in the air by his neck for several seconds before Turner slammed him down with enough force that his tailbone and head struck the floor, causing immediate pain.

A forensic interview conducted days later at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin revealed further details. The boy said his father “choked” him for approximately seven seconds until he couldn’t breathe, describing the sensation as “like somebody was picking me up and shooting me in the head.” He told the interviewer he feared for his life and thought, “this actually might be the last time I might live.”

The boy’s 15-year-old sister also witnessed portions of the event and corroborated the account. She told officers that she heard Turner yelling violent threats at her younger brother, including, “I’m going to kill you by ripping your face off and sending it to your worthless mother.” She reported hearing multiple loud bangs, which she described as sounding like a bowling ball hitting a hardwood floor, before her brother began to cry. Turner then ordered all the children to “pack up your bags and get the fuck out of the house.”

Fearing for their safety, the teenage girl loaded her siblings into a vehicle and left. Turner called her repeatedly afterward, and during one of the calls, allegedly said, “Bring them back home right now.” He also sent a text message threatening that “your brother is going to die if he keep this bull shit up, and that is a promise.”

The child was evaluated at Aurora Hospital’s emergency room, where he described pain in his neck, back, and head. During the forensic interview, he demonstrated the choking with a pincher grip motion and said that while there were no broken bones, his neck hurt and made a cracking sound. He said Turner had previously punched him and destroyed his Xbox after the attack.

Assistant District Attorney Sarah Norkus filed the charges, which include two Class H felonies: strangulation and suffocation, and physical abuse of a child. Each carries a maximum penalty of six years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Turner also faces a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct, punishable by up to 90 days in jail.

In total, Turner faces a maximum possible sentence of 13 years and 90 days behind bars if convicted on all counts.

The case is assigned to Kenosha County Circuit Judge Jason Rossell. As of Friday, Turner remained in custody at the Kenosha County Jail.

  2. He better get locked up for a very long time. That poor boy, hope he never sees this pos again and gets some help. He will need some after this.

  3. This disgusting excuse of a man needs to be locked up for life. I can only hope the other prisoners give him a warm welcome

    1. What he did was vile—no question. But all you pitchfork-wavers screaming for a life sentence while begging convicted felons to finish the job? You’re not after justice, you’re just too cowardly to admit you crave violence—you just want someone else’s hands bloody so yours stay clean.
