Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office Introduces New K9 Unit: Meet Kane
KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. – The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office has introduced its newest K9 team, welcoming K9 Kane and his handler, Deputy Tyler Brady, to active duty.
Kane, a black and tan German Shepherd, was born in the Czech Republic on July 12, 2023. He is trained in narcotics detection, tracking, and fugitive apprehension.
Kane and Deputy Brady recently completed 380 hours of certification training at TOPS Kennel in Grayslake, Illinois. The team will continue to train 16 to 32 hours each month to maintain their skills in drug detection, tracking, and apprehension.

The Sheriff’s Office noted that Kane was purchased and trained using funds donated by members of the community, not taxpayer dollars. Department officials thanked local residents for their generosity in supporting the expansion of the K9 program.
Kane joins four other working dogs in the department’s K9 unit. He will also take part in public outreach, including school visits and demonstrations. He is currently scheduled to appear at Salem Lakes Community Days on August 9, 2025.
Deputy Brady was hired by the Sheriff’s Office on Sept. 10, 2018. His new assignment with Kane marks a significant addition to the agency’s efforts to combat drug crimes and locate suspects throughout the county.

The Sheriff’s Office released very limited details about the new K9, including when he began training, what certifications he holds, or what specific duties he will perform.
The dog obviously wants his privacy so we should respect that.
Anybody look up his salary yet?
OMG….. It goes straight to that doesn’t it! Is the salary going to change your life in any way? SMH what is the damn difference or are you jealous? Why dont you join the police academy, im sure you could make it through?

No desire to be in law enforcement. Appreciate the good ones. Loathe the corrupt ones.
Those dogs are bad ass, heroes! I still remember the story about Riggs and watching the events unfold on the TV show Body Cam.
