KENOSHA, Wis. – A 52-year-old homeless woman is accused of using a weapon to slash another woman’s face during a violent alleyway altercation and appeared in court Tuesday on three criminal charges.
Shauna R. Plummer faces felony counts of second-degree recklessly endangering safety and substantial battery, both with weapons and repeater enhancers, along with a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct, also as a repeater and with a weapon.
The incident occurred March 10 in an alleyway near 61st Street and 62nd Street, in the 2000 block. Police say Plummer attacked the victim, Courtney Lewis, during a fight that broke out while Lewis and a friend were walking to Uptown Pantry. Witnesses told police that Plummer and Lewis suddenly began fighting on the ground. Afterward, Lewis had a deep, actively bleeding slash wound across her left cheek, a bruised and swollen eye, and additional lacerations to her lip and neck.
At Froedtert Hospital, medical staff treated Lewis with 11 stitches on the outside of the facial wound, 7 stitches on the inside, and two more to the neck. Police noted the cheek injury was so severe that fatty tissue was visible from the open wound.
Initially, the victim blamed an unknown man, but later recanted, telling investigators that Plummer had cut her. A witness, Ericka Jackson-Morning, told police she believed Plummer used a razor blade, though no weapon was recovered. Jackson-Morning also identified Plummer from a booking photo provided by investigators.
Plummer was previously convicted of battery, disorderly conduct, and drug paraphernalia possession in 2023. Because of her prior record, prosecutors included repeater enhancers on each charge.

In court Tuesday, Kenosha County District Attorney Xavier Solis personally appeared and requested $20,000 cash bail. Court Commissioner William Michel II instead set bail at $5,000 cash. Plummer remains in custody.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 17.
If convicted on all counts with the weapon and repeater modifiers, Plummer faces a maximum sentence exceeding 26 years in prison.
