KENOSHA, Wis. – The iconic Lakefront Trolley will resume weekend operations in Kenosha beginning Saturday, June 14, 2025, offering residents and visitors an affordable and scenic way to explore the city through August 30.
Kenosha Area Transit announced that the seasonal service will run Fridays through Sundays with expanded coverage of key cultural, educational, and recreational destinations. Friday hours will be 3:45 to 9:15 p.m., Saturdays from 1:45 to 9:15 p.m., and Sundays from 1:45 to 6:15 p.m.
The trolley’s loop begins near the University of Wisconsin–Parkside campus in Somers and travels past Carthage College, downtown Kenosha, and south to the Kemper Center on Third Avenue. Riders can enjoy access to attractions such as the History Center, Civil War Museum, and Kenosha Public Museum along the scenic route.
The line also passes several art galleries in the Union Park neighborhood, giving riders a view of Kenosha’s growing cultural corridor.
Trolley stops are clearly marked, but riders can also flag down the vehicle along the route. Fares remain budget-friendly at $1 for adults and 50 cents for children.

Know what else would help people get around downtown? Instead of putting tables in the parking places, maybe put a few, “No Parking-Loading Zones” signs up and use a pair of parking spots for the truck parked in front of a Bar, turning 6th into a one-way street for traffic. I’m disgusted with the current system and will continue to boycott any downtown businesses that think they need private use of public sidewalks and parking spaces while a pile of my property taxes go down the wealth distribution toilet.
Need to wait for the tracks and overhead wires to be run before it’s allowed on the streets-PROGRESS!!!
Will never happen
It’s empty 95% of time. This might rile up people and not my intentions but the buses run very close to empty too.
Of course they’re empty, they exist to be school buses, with hefty Federal funding. The only times they are crowded is 2x a day during school days. The rest of the time, the routes could be covered by 12 passenger vans or DoorDashers ☺
It makes liberals feel better about themselves and isn’t that really what matters?
Im conservative and now feel gay. Thanks
What would it take for you to feel better about yourself
A zj
